Rooted in regional mythologies, nature, and daily life — passed down for millennia.

Indian classical and tribal art forms are deeply rooted in regional mythologies, nature, and daily life. While Mithila (Madhubani) is the most prominent, India boasts over 50 distinct traditional folk arts passed down for millennia. We conduct classes and workshops on the following regularly.

Renowned for its double-line borders, vibrant natural colors, and complete absence of empty space. Every inch of the canvas is alive with form and meaning — deities, nature, and mythology woven into a single, intricate composition.

Lippan Art

An ancient mirror-and-clay wall art from the Kutch region of Gujarat

Lippan Art is a centuries-old tradition practiced by the women of Kutch — using clay to build intricate geometric reliefs, then embedding tiny mirrors into the surface. The result is a luminous, textured wall panel that catches and reflects light in a deeply meditative way.

Each design is rooted in sacred geometry and folk symbolism — diamonds, chevrons, florals, and peacock motifs — passed down as a living craft within communities like the Rabari and Ahir of Gujarat.
